About

I’m passionate about education and technology. So that’s what I write about here.

Borg’s Blog is a journal where I can share my thoughts. I can access my notes anywhere in the world as long as I have Internet access. I don’t have to carry a journal with me and I’ll never lose it. But the blog can be so much more than merely a journal.

Its a publication without hassles. Everything I post here is freely available to the community. Anyone on the World Wide Web can read it. We learn from each other this way.

The blog is also a communications medium. People can remark on my posts and their comments become part of the blog. We can have a dialog about any post and learn from one another.

Why Borg? Well all of the obvious usernames at WordPress had been taken. This was the first silly username I tried and it worked. So, what the heck! It’s Borg’s Blog.

My career is about evenly split between teaching computer science and leading software engineering at Zenith Data Systems and Gateway 2000. I’ve been teaching computer science at Mount Marty College now for about 10 years. Its a great place to teach and learn. These experiences taught me many things about technology, learning, and life and I’m still learning.

In addition to teaching I’m also actively involved in the Collaboration for the Advancement of College Teaching & Learning as an author, presenter, and evaluator. I’m currently getting ready to do a faculty inservice at Claflin University on using podcasts in Blackboard.

Join me here at Borg’s Blog and lets learn together!
